We look forward, at some point, to another visit from Robin Hill, a highly acclaimed international artist, based in the north of England. In 1973, he and fellow guitarist Peter Wiltschinsky formed the Hill/Wiltschinsky Guitar Duo. Since then, the duo have recorded several albums, made numerous broadcasts and toured extensively worldwide. Robin also has a quartet, Eklectica, which combines classical guitar and jazz. He has performed with several top national orchestras and soloists, as well as solo recitals. He currently teaches at Leeds University and his book "The Guitar Gymnasium" is used in conservatories throughout the world.

" ... remarkable fluent technique. Everything looks easy when he plays it." Colin Cooper - 'Classical Guitar Magazine'
David Rogers offers a workshop on renaissance lute tablature and music to classical and fingerstyle guitarists who are at least "low
intermediate" level. Renaissance lute tablature is very similar to modern guitar tablature. Guitarists who are comfortable
reading guitar tab can easily learn to play music from original lute tablature. The only difference between renaissance lute and the
guitar of today is that the third string of a lute is tuned a half step lower than today’s standard guitar tuning. David will focus
on reading and playing from French tablature, which is very similar to modern guitar tab except that it uses letters instead of numbers.
There
is a huge wealth of wonderful music contained in the renaissance lute repertoire which is easily accessed without needing to read
music, making this repertoire especially accessible and useful for fingerstyle guitarists.
